For Young Adult books I would have to say a great “grabs you from the start” plot with some romance on the side. For Adult Fiction, I tend to like the most random books… (JPod, The Great Gatsby, 1984, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Animal Farm, Memoirs of a Geisha) to name a few.
